Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 902

Henry cried all the way home, his chubby cheeks glistening with sweat from his tears.

By the time they reached the parking garage, he was still wailing in his dad's arms. Uncle Jack had had enough. "Hey, why don't we just get him the cake? The kid's heartbroken."

Henry pouted, giving his dad the most pitiful look imaginable.

Andre, keeping a straight face, buckled Henry into the back seat. "He can't have cake. It'll be a mess, and his clothes will be impossible to clean. Then your sister will nag me about not knowing how to care for him."

Mia, with her warm and spirited way, would surely chide: "Can't you look after your own child? Look at him, all dirty and smelly. How can we keep him like this?"

Uncle Jack tried to reason, "Come on, make your stand as the man of the house. Don't let Mia boss you around. Out there, you have the last word, don't you?"

Andre wiped away the sweat from his son's forehead, "I've argued with your sister enough to know it's always my fault in the end. Women are never wrong, Jack. You'll get it when you marry. In a marriage, especially during an argument, being right doesn't matter. Making her happy does."

"So you'd rather spend money to keep my sister happy? Brother-in-law, that's not the life I want. When I get married, I'll be the head of my household, like the lords of old."

Andre chuckled at Jack's innocence, while Henry kept crying, reaching out for his dad.

With no other option, Andre picked him up again. "Stop crying, listen to Dad. You can't have cake. If you do, Mia will spank you."

Henry clung to his dad, still sobbing.

Jack mused, "I'll never marry someone like Mia."

"You couldn't even if you tried." Andre tossed him the car keys. "You drive, I'll hold Henry."

Henry snuggled into his dad's arms, refusing the car seat. Eventually, Jack drove while Andre comforted the little one.

"So, have you got someone reliable to watch Henry while Mia studies?"

"Yep, he's well-covered during the day, and we're setting good habits for night-time."

The daytime caregiver? Mr. Hansen.

When he got the call, he exclaimed, "Andre, I'm your dad, not your grandson!"

Andre replied, "Can you help out or not? There's a line of folks willing, but I asked you first." Bruce even wanted to retire early to watch Henry, but Mia and Andre stopped him, saying they couldn't let their son interfere with his uncle's career.

Mr. Hansen begrudgingly agreed, "Fine, I can take care of him. What's it to you?"

And that settled it.

Back at the Irvin household, Mia sat in the living room, tackling some problems. "What is all this? Is this question wrong? I've never seen this word! This is supposed to be easy?"

She was lost in thought until she heard the car. She got up and went outside.

Andre emerged, holding Henry in one arm and a navy-blue gift bag in the other.

Seeing them, Mia's complaints disappeared. "Wow, you're back!"

She rushed over, bypassing Henry, who'd thought she was there to pick him up. "Mom."

Mia snatched the bag from Andre. "What's this?"

Henry, bewildered. Andre, indulgent.

"It's beautiful, honey." Mia's eyes sparkled, like sunlight dancing on a pond.

She threw herself into Andre's arms. "I love you."
