Hearing these words, Seraphina gave Leandro a puzzled look. "What are you getting at, Mr. Reynolds?"
Rather than respond, Leandro simply turned to the driver and said, "Let's roll."
In no time, they were swept up in the flow of traffic. While Leandro remained engrossed in his documents, Seraphina sat rigidly, mulling over his words - Isn't this what you wanted?
Sure, she had orchestrated the current situation, but he could have totally ignored it. Yet, it seemed he had seen right through her and was now indulging her in her own game.
Could this really be the case? But this was Leandro. Why on earth would he bother to help her? And how could he possibly know her real intentions?
Thinking of this, Seraphina chuckled softly, reminding herself to stay cool.
Leandro barely paid her any attention throughout the journey, apparently focused solely on running errands for Conway. With no intention of stirring up any more drama, Seraphina kept to her own thoughts.
Upon arriving at the Reynolds family home, Conway immediately began scolding Seraphina. It took a great deal of effort for Seraphina to calm him down, promising and pleading her way out of trouble.
Conway had recently been in high spirits, able to move about freely without his monitors. Naturally, this meant he was more demanding of Seraphina. She cautiously catered to his every need - meals, tea, card games, chit-chats, TV shows, all the way until she tucked him in at midnight.
"You're not leaving tonight," Conway stated. "You're having breakfast with me tomorrow."
"You want me to sleep over?" Seraphina pouted. "I might not sleep well, maybe even have nightmares."
Conway gave her a light smack. "You've lived here since you were a kid, why can't you stay now?"
