Mrs. Burnham cast a glance at Alison who was standing outside the classroom with her head hung down. Compared to Alexa, Alison was such a propper student.
Mrs. Burnham was no longer angry. "OK. You can go back to your seats. Don't copy others' homework again."
"Thank you, ma’am. I promise I won’t do it again, and I will be attentive in class!"
After giving Mrs. Burnham her promise, Alexa rushed out of the classroom to find Alison. "Mrs. Burnham had forgiven us. Come in!"
Alison peeked at the teacher on the podium, who was pushing her glasses up her nose. Seeing Alison’s reddened eyes, the teacher took pity on her. She softened her tone and said, "Focus in class. Your math is poor."
Alison held back her tears and replied," Yeah."
Then she ran to her desk with her head down, sat down, and buried her head under her arms.
Luis was sipping his water. He looked at Alison and raised an eyebrow, 'She's so weak?'
Alexa guessed that Alison was probably crying, and she knew she had caused trouble for Alison this time.
However, when the class was over, Alexa didn't go to comfort Alison, lest the others laugh at them.
Alison didn't cry. She just hung her head down and wiped her tears with her blouse. When the bell rang, she took out her textbook, sat upright, and concentrated.
She was really poor at math. Her former teachers had struggled with it too. They even had her stay in the class after school ended to give her more guidance, but Alison couldn't master math anyway.
At first, Alison could follow the teacher, but halfway through the class, she couldn't even keep up with her notes.
She was halfway through the note-taking when the teacher wiped the board and started the next math problem.
