When Scarlett woke up, the sunlight outside the curtains was bright. The alarm clock that rang every day at seven o'clock had been turned off. The room was quiet. Raymond was not here.
What happened last night flashed across her mind like an old silent movie. Scarlett blushed.
She touched her hot cheeks, glancing at the tightly closed curtains. "Hilla, open the curtains."
Her voice was husky.
Scarlett was embarrassed. She hurriedly got up and went into the bathroom.
After washing up, she picked up her phone.
It was almost nine o'clock.
The sun blazed down. Scarlett walked downstairs, hearing Raymond’s voice from inside the living room.
Through the screen, Scarlett saw Raymond talking on the phone in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
She had thought he had gone to his company.
Noticing the gaze from behind him, Raymond looked back. His eyes fell on Scarlett and moved slightly.
"Postpone the meeting until this afternoon."
After saying that, Raymond directly hung up the phone, walking up to Scarlett. "Are you okay?"
Scarlett looked at him, flushing. "Yes.”
She didn't want to continue this subject. She came to the table, glancing at the several bags of food on it. "Breakfast?"
Raymond walked over, taking the bag from her hand. He untied it, opened the box inside, and handed it to her. "This is porridge with meat and egg. There is another bowl of porridge with seafood."
"I'll just eat this one."
"Okay."
Raymond opened the bags of cakes and bread and put them in front of Scarlett.
Scarlett was hungry. She lowered her head and ate in silence.
