The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 141

Jessie had no reason to act out in any way.

"Don't cry, dear. I'll sort things out." Nancy rushed into Jessie's office, in the hopes of gaining more information about what happened. She slightly pushed the door and went inside.

Nancy had a lot to say. However, before she could even speak, Jessie had already began talking. "Look who finally decided to come to work. I am truly surprised," Jessie mockingly said. "Have you heard the news? I'm quite sure you have. Apparently, your beloved Mr. Fu was engaged to Miss Zhuang. I feel sorry for you... Take my advice; start sort things out before they get out of hand. But you do realize that Mr. Fu is now beyond your reach, right?" Jessie would say everything to hurt Nancy. "It would be best to accept that you are never worthy of him," she added.

Nancy already had too much on her plate. She decided not to acknowledge any of the remarks Jessie made. Nancy simply said, "Charles' engagement is none of our business. I'm here on behalf of Erin. Why did you hit her? Did she say something wrong?"

Jessie felt a bit castigated. She replied, "You can't walk over me simply because this hospital value your skills over mine. You really are an arrogant bitch, most especially when you were dating Mr. Fu. You acted as if no one could stand in your way." Jessie took a breath and continued, "You did not even show respect towards your seniors, myself included. You treated me—the director of this hospital—as if I were your assistant. How do you feel about all of these? Too much, isn't it?" Jessie aired out all the hate and anger that she bore. She had waited for quite a while for that opportunity. She had always envied Nancy, and had always seen the lady as her rival.

Jessie had always wished for Nancy and Charles' breakup. That breakup could really benefit her. Nancy would lose some of her influence in the hospital, thus giving Jessie the opportunity to overtake her rival. That breakup would truly ease not only her mind, but also her body.

Well, that day came sooner than Jessie had thought. She was among those people who were glad to hear that news.

Nancy stood her ground and said, "How did I ever bully you? If you truly think that highly of yourself, then get rid of the people that serve no purpose. But then again, don't forget that you are just a director in this hospital." Nancy's heart pounded erratically. Wanting to avoid further discussions, so she turned around and left. There was a light thud as she closed the door behind her.

Nancy went straight to Hobart's office.

"President Hobart?" Nancy said as she entered the room. Hobart momentarily stopped reading and replied, "Yes, Dr. Nancy?"

"Does your offer to run the Second Pediatric Department still stand?" she asked.

"Of course it does," Hobart said as he nodded. "I was only waiting for you to come around... We can open it as soon as you are ready, Nancy,” the man replied with a smile.

Nancy felt a huge relief. "Thank you, President. Let's do it as soon as possible," she said pleasantly

"You don't need to worry about a thing. Leave everything to me, and I will get them sorted out." Nancy was happy to be dismissed with such a reassuring note.

The setup of the Second Pediatric Department was expected by Jessie. As a matter of fact, she was the one who was most unconvinced since Nancy came, so she also wanted to have a fair competition with her. Now it was a real competition.

She believed that she would never lose to Nancy. Jessie could already sense her victory.

Jessie had always been very arrogant.

And being arrogant meant being over-confident.

Nancy was just about to finish her final task when Doris called. Nancy was told that Nadia had already been picked up from the kindergarten.

Moreover, Doris told Nancy to come home early for she had something important to say.

Nancy never liked those kinds of uncertainty. Doris had been unusual lately, and so Nancy was truly intrigued by what Doris had to say.

Nancy said, "Why are you acting so suspiciously? Please tell me you have some good news." She desperately needed to hear something good after a day of hard work.

"Don't ask any more questions," Doris replied. "Just come home early so I can tell you." Doris knew she had to keep the suspense in order for her friend to do as she wanted.

'What a weird girl!' Nancy thought to herself as she walked downstairs.

Once again, she bumped into Jessie. As soon as she saw Nancy, Jessie said, "Congratulations on the Second Pediatric Department. You're finally becoming a director, aren't you?"

Nancy, who was eager to get home, abruptly replied, "Still, I'll just be a doctor treating patients. There's nothing exciting about it." Jessie replied, "You’re still proud as ever, aren't you? Let's see how you'll fare without Charles."

Jessie wanted to kick Nancy out of the department so badly. The mere sight of Nancy greatly disturbed her.

She could never feel comfortable with Nancy around.

Only when Nancy left did she feel safe.

When Nancy got home from work, she saw Doris and Nadia sitting on the sofa.
