As soon as Winnie finished her words, she rushed into Jay's arms. Standing on tiptoes, she kissed his face without any restraints.
"You're already twenty years old. How can you still act like this? Aren't you afraid that no man will marry you?" Jay scolded, pushing Winnie away.
"No, it's good. I only want to marry you in this life!"
"I'm afraid I'll let you down. I have a meeting today. Would you like to have breakfast?"
"Of course, I'm starving!" Winnie patted her stomach and said, "Jay, don't forget that we are engaged. You can't go back on your words!"
"If you mention that again, do you believe that I will send you away, at once?" Jay smirked.
The so-called engagement between Jay and Winnie was nothing more than a joke among the elders. This naughty and unruly girl was not to his style at all!
In contrast to Winnie, Doris was more up to his taste.
Jay's stern and annoyed expression scared Winnie.
She followed behind Jay and held his arm sycophantically. "Jay, I won't mention it anymore. Let's go and have breakfast."
After Doris washed her face, she changed into a creamcolored casual shirt and black loose pants. Then she walked downstairs with the help of a crutch.
The maid saw her going downstairs and hurried to assist her. "Miss He, I was just about to call you for breakfast, but you came down yourself. Be careful, I will
hold you."
When Winnie entered the living room, she saw Doris, and her eyes widened in shock. Donning an exaggerated expression, she asked, "W-who are you?" Winnie was startled because she saw a completely unfamiliar woman in Jay's house. "Who are you?"
"Hello, I'm Doris He, and who are you?" Doris asked politely, smiling.
Doris was quite aware of Jay's taste in women. Childish women like Winnie were definitely not up to his palate.
However, her heart was still a little jealous!
"Who am I? Why should I tell you? Why are you even here?" Winnie acted as if she had seen her lifelong enemy. Hands-on-hips, she tried to drive Doris away.
Doris was neither angry nor anxious. She smiled and asked, "May I ask why I can't be here?"
"Because... Because... Humph!" Winnie was stumped for words and couldn't come up with a rejoinder. She glared at Jay and asked him instead, "Jay! Who is she? Are you playing with this bitch under the sheets?"
"You can think whatever you like..." Jay was too lazy to explain.
Besides, it seemed like a good idea to be misunderstood by Winnie.
After all, Jay would be the one most relieved if either woman drove the other away!
"Humph! Leave here right now! Hurry up!" Descrying Jay's indifferent response, Winnie couldn't help but vent her anger on Doris.
Winnie was arrogant and willful. No one had ever dared to go against her!
"Miss, don't worry. I'm just one of Mr. Fang's friends.
My leg hasn't recovered yet. How can I get out of here?" asked Doris in a polite manner.
"Are you just friends?"
"Of course, you can ask Mr. Fang if you don't believe me."
"Obviously, I believe in him. You're like an old nun. There is no way he is falling in love with you."
Facing the agitated Winnie, Doris just smiled noncommittally.
Meanwhile, Jay was sitting at the table, drinking milk, and listening to the conversation between the two women.
'Yup, I really like Doris more!'
After breakfast, Jay went to work.
