The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 184

Nancy was checking if there was any improvement on her foot injury.

Although it still hurt a lot, the swelling had subsided and it wasn't as swollen as before.

In another one or two days, it would be as good as new.

"Hey, look! Isn't that Nancy over there?” Kathy Jiang said as both she and Tina Su happened to pass by.

She had seen Nancy first and pointed her out to Tina Su.

"Yes, I wonder why she's here though," said Tina Su in surprise.

Looking at the Lamborghini that Nancy was in, Kathy Jiang sneered enviously, "She's in a luxury car? Why would she even be riding in one?"

"Do you think Nancy is now dating a rich man that's why she can now ride in a luxury car? echoed Tina Su disapprovingly.

Nancy, however, was oblivious to their conversation. She was so focused on her foot and didn't care about what they were talking about.

Besides, they hadn't seen each other after their university days. Even if they were to bump into each other on the streets, they would probably not be able to recognize each other immediately.

Kathy Jiang impatiently knocked on the car window while snugly saying, "Hey, Nancy, we are talking to you. Can you not hear and see us?"

Nancy raised her head and finally noticed the two girls standing outside the car. She carefully looked at them with a faint recognition, "Kathy? And Tina? Is it you guys?"

While they were in university, they didn't belong to the same group. Kathy Jiang and Tina Su were the daughters of the rich families, whereas Nancy and Doris belonged to the opposite, being children of the poor families.

As the saying went, birds of a feather flock together.

The rich kids would stick together and always stay on the same side, forming their own clique.

Therefore, they didn't belong to the same crowd. Both Kathy Jiang and Tina Su looked down upon Nancy and Doris because of their social status.

They didn't have much interaction with each other either since they had different circle of friends. Simply said, they were just classmates in university and had nothing to do with each other.

"What a coincidence! What brings you here?" Nancy addressed them out of politeness when she saw them. She was a woman who didn't want to be indifferent to others and thus greeted them warmly.

She smiled blandly at them without any malice on her mind.

Kathy Jiang, however, had a different interpretation. In her eyes, Nancy was showing off.

"Nancy, it seems you struck gold and have now become a rich person. Such a luxurious car! Have you hooked up with a rich man?" Kathy Jiang asked candidly.

Since they were at the gate of the supermarket, many people were coming and going. Nancy didn't want to attract too much attention on herself.

"It's not mine. It's a friend's car," she said timidly.

"Is it your boyfriend's? You really are something! How were you able to hook up with such a rich boyfriend?" Kathy Jiang said disdainfully, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"How about you two? Do you now have boyfriends?" Nancy asked as she tried to change the subject.

"Of course we do. Tina's boyfriend is an affluent senior executive of a company. And my boyfriend... He is a returnee and is very successful. He comes from a very rich family!" After a pause, Kathy Jiang continued with emphasis, "Most importantly, he is also young and very handsome. By the way, Tina is going to be engaged soon.

Tina, you have to invite us to your engagement party!"

"Of course I will! But will you be able to come, Nancy?" Tina Su said in a degrading manner.

"If you were to give me an invitation, why not? I will definitely attend!" said Nancy with a smile, not taking her snide remarks seriously.

"Hey, Nancy, tell us, is your boyfriend named Charles? Rumor has it that he has a child. Are you really willing to take on the responsibility of being his child's stepmother just for the sake of money?" Kathy Jiang asked conspiringly as she lowered her voice, all the while pretending to be concerned.

Nancy just looked at her unabashedly with a smile on her lips.

She wasn't in a hurry to refute the rumors nor defend herself against it.
