The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 185

Charles couldn't stand the conversation anymore, so he immediately stood up and walked towards them.

"What? I'm old, huh?"

Upon hearing his baritone voice, the three women suddenly turned their heads at him.

"Mr. Fu, we just said you're older than Nancy," Kathy replied demurely. She lowered her head while a shy smile escaped her lips.

"Yes, I'm a little older than her, but an old man knows howto love his wife more, right?" he replied with utmost confidence. Then, he loaded the shopping bags into the car and muttered, "Honey, have I bought all the things you asked me to buy?"

It was not just his eyes that were gently staring at Nancy, but even his soft voice almost melted into their ears.

He seemed to be really fitting into the role of a husband. And frankly, he was doing a very good job at it.

The man was beaming with so much happiness and contentment, as evidenced by the glow on his face.

At the same time, Nancy—who felt shy in front of the two women—pretended to take a peek in the bags and answered, "You've bought all of them. We can go now.

I'll see you at the reunion, guys. Bye!" With a smile, she waved at Kathy and Tina after putting the bags away.

"Ah yeah! We'll see you." Kathy waved her hand while still wearing that sly smile on her lips.

After Charles roared the engine to life and drove away, the two were left dumbfounded at the sudden encounter.

"What did Charles call Nancy just now?" Kathy asked; she still couldn't believe what he heard.

"Honey!" Tina replied with wide eyes. She, too, was too overwhelmed with Charles' presence.

"Does he mean that he will marry Nancy?” Kathy's tone was coated with so much disbelief.

"It's possible!" Even Tina cocked her head slightly in incredulity.

"Charles must have heard what I said. Do you think he will hate me?" Kathy asked in a nervous tone, even slapping her cheeks in an attempt to reprimand herself.

"Well...I'm not really sure, but judging from what he said, I'm guessing he heard you." Although Tine tried to make sense of the recent encounter, she was still in a trance from meeting Charles and hearing him address Nancy with an endearment.

In fact, she was still staring at the direction his car maneuvered—even though they had left minutes ago.

The woman was still star-struck by his well-sculpted face, which looked more handsome in person than on TV.

His perfect jawline, coupled with his imposing manner, would render all trivial at this point. No one could match up to him when it came to his physical attributes.

"Tina, what are you thinking about?!" Kathy yelled at her, upon seeing how her friend was lost in a daze.

"I'm thinking about Charles!" the latter answered with a dull tone.

"Fine. Keep thinking about him. I'll go!" Angry, Kathy marched and left her delusional friend, shaking her head as she walked out.

Meanwhile, Nancy looked dejected on the way home.

She didn’t know why, but she just couldn't help reminiscing about the past.

Thinking about her mother, she recalled how she gave birth for money.

Enduring that nine months filled with pain and finally giving birth to a baby—it was all etched in her mind.

"Hey, we're here." Charles slightly nudged her after parking the car. Then with furrowed brows, he curiously asked, "What's wrong? You seemed to be distracted since we left the supermarket."

"Oh, it's nothing. I'm fine." Half-smiling, Nancy wiped the tears that formed on the corners of her eyes.

But then, Charles didn't buy her excuse. He could clearly see through her.

"Nancy, what's wrong? You can tell me," he softly encouraged while opening the door and helping her get out.

"Nothing. There is sand in my eyes!" she answered perfunctorily, trying to avoid his gaze.

But even with her attempt to hide it, her actions gave away that she was lying to him.

Charles was so angry that he strode directly into the living room by himself with the shopping bags.

After aggressively taking off his coat, he threw himself on the sofa and rubbed his eyebrows. At first glance, one could easily tell that he was entirely exhausted and tired.

And Nancy, who didn't know how to approach him, went straight into the bathroom and washed her face.

Then slowly, she tiptoed on her way out, careful not to disturb him. "Come here!" Charles' voice rang out. And although his volume was quite low, his tone exuded with so much command.

Left with no choice, Nancy had to turn around and walk towards him.

As soon as she stood in front of him, Charles quickly pulled her in his lap and wrapped her in his arms. "You really know how to break my heart, huh?" he asked, rubbing her hair gently.
