The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 297

"Anna's life?" Charles asked surprised. "Oh, so the reason why she wanted to commit suicide is being fired?" he asked again, crossing his hands. He could almost pity her if he didn't know firsthand what she'd done. It was well-known that David spoiled his daughter very much. Charles was sure it was another attempt of Anna to get away without a punishment. As a matter of fact, Charles could figure out that Anna was just threatening him with her life.

However, it was impossible to make David see what was right in front of his eyes.

Charles knew all about a father's love and feelings. He knew that he would do anything to protect his children. It was understandable that David loved his daughter so much. But it was unreasonable that David couldn't tell right from wrong. It was a crime to support something so morally wrong. 'What a mess,' he thought.

Charles was starting to feel the beginning of a headache. However, David was nothing but relentless. He put on a flattering smile and said, "Yes, Mr. Fu. If President Hobart hadn't pushed her too hard, how could Anna want to commit suicide?"

Charles still had a cold face. A muscle twitched in his cheek. He picked up the cup on the desk and took a sip of coffee.

He was not a fool. He knew the game Anna was playing. But, there was always a risk that she might do something impulsive and act on her threat.

He needed to tread water carefully. But one thing was certain. He could not let it go unpunished this time.

Jessie was an example of how things could go wrong. This time he would have to act wisely.

Charles didn't want to make any more trouble. He only wanted to make sure that Anna was out of Nancy's life.

However, he was not entirely sure on how to best proceed with this case. He was used to firing people for their incompetence. Hardly any of them wanted to commit suicide forthat. He was presented with a brand new and an absurd problem.

Charles was watching David with a penetrating stare. David knew he was calculating something in his mind.

So he said carefully, "Mr. Fu, you are the boss of that hospital now. You can't stand by and do nothing about it. You must teach President Hobart a lesson, or he might do something evil!"

Charles smirked and said, "You mean you want me to fire President Hobart?"

Hearing this, David laughed immediately. "If that's the case, that's great!" Charles was beginning to enjoy this cat and mouse game.

"And then?" he asked cheerfully. Charles was really curious to know the answer of this question. He raised an eyebrow.

"Mr. Fu, are you worried that no one will be the president of the hospital after Hobart leaves?" David asked, his eyes polar.

'Interesting,' Charles thought. He fixed David with merely an inquiring gaze and asked, "Well... Shouldn't I worry, Mr. Wang? President Hobart has been working in the hospital for so many years, and he has done a good job, hasn't he?" He could see David was becoming impatient now. Good!

"Yes, that's true. But it doesn't mean that he is a good man!" David threw his next card and said in a hurry, "If you trust me, please give me one day. I promise I can find a person to replace President Hobart!"

Charles chuckled, "Mr. Wang, don't you want to know who fired your daughter?"

David's eyes instantly became cautious.

'Isn't it President Hobart?' he thought.

David started sweating. He was sure that Anna had told him about President Hobart being the one who had fired her!

But now, looking at the mocking smile on Charles's face, David felt that this matter was not as simple as he knew. There was something more. Something he did not know about.

He did his best to relax, racking his brain as he tried to think if he had missed something. Taking a deep breath he forced himself not to panic and said in a trembling voice, "I don't understand ..."

Charles sighed slightly, "Alas, Mr. Wang, you are a smart man. How could you not understand it?"

David's face turned pale in an instant. Blood beat at his temples, his throat so constricted he could barely swallow. He was indeed very smart. He knew the answer by the taunting words and expression of Charles!

But he needed to keep trying. So he asked hesitantly, "Mr. Fu, do you have a problem with Anna?"

Charles turned on the phone and found the video. "Watch it yourself! Perhaps you can enlighten me as to its contents?"

David took the phone with a shaking hand. When he saw the two people in the video, he blinked. It took a full minute to fully comprehend what he was watching. Air whooshed out of his lungs as if he'd been hurled to the ground.
