The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 307

"Honey, we just need to find Laura as soon as possible and get back the one million, right?" asked Jay, cocking his head slightly to the right.

"That's right. So hurry up! I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack whenever I think of that one million dollars. Damn it! How dare she lie to me! Catch her and see how I'll punish her!" Doris gnashed her teeth in seething hatred and fury. Her fists clenched into tight grips that almost left nail marks on her palm.

"Don't you think it’s your fault?" Although he was so sure that would spike Doris' anger, Jay gambled and took the opportunity to teach her a lesson.

If he was to let this slide unnoticed, the silly woman might stir trouble for him in the future.

"I know I am wrong, okay? No need to rub it in my face."

"So, will you do that again?"

This time, humiliation hovered over Doris, who shook her head and muttered, "No."

As her lips curled into a pout, Jay couldn’t help flashing a smug smile at how cute his wife was. It was not every day that this feisty woman was reprimanded like a child, but this one was one for the books.

"Baby, be good with mommy, okay? Don't let her think too much.” He bent down and planted a soft kiss on her belly.

"What are you doing? You know the baby won't respond to that."

"I know, but I can't help it," Jay replied, landing a kiss on her baby bump again. Then he stood up and kissed her on the face before reminding, "Stay at home. Don't even think of going out."

"What? Where are you going?" Doris asked nervously with her head raised to better see his face. It was apparent that Jay was about to leave, and she started to get worried.

"I'm going to find Laura, and get the money back for you," answered Jay with a sigh.

"Oh, alright. But be careful!" Releasing her grip on his arm, Doris bit her lips in embarrassment.

"Well, don't worry. I'll be careful." With those words, Jay stormed out without looking back again.

Meanwhile, Doris was left alone, heaving a long sigh of relief. She internally swore to make Laura pay for deceiving her.

Then, as she cursed the cunning woman in her head, she remembered that Nancy left a message on WeChat. So she clicked on her phone and hurriedly replied, 'Yes, I just woke up!’

At this time, Nancy had just finished her breakfast and was preparing to go to work when her phone suddenly dinged for a notification.

After checking the message, Nancy shook her head in disbelief and uttered with a smile, "This girl is really crazy!"

"What's wrong?" Charles leaned over to see what it was about, but Nancy was quick enough to put her phone away.

"Hey! Don't peek at my messages! It's a secret," she answered with a grin, still hiding her phone from Charles' sight.

"A secret?" Although his tone was flattering, Charles was determined to get to the bottom of it.

"Yes, what's wrong?" Nancy arched her eyebrows and gazed at him with her innocent pair of eyes that could bewitch any man.

"Well...is it a man or a woman?" Charles grilled her with more questions, narrowing his eyes to better scrutinize the change of expression on her face. Then, boldly, he asked again, "Is it Ethan or Jerome?"

"Neither! And stop guessing! I'll go to work after resting for a while." Nancy withdrew her glance at him and turned off her phone.

Then, as if to add security to her messages, she buried the phone under the pillow.

Seeing this, Charles felt more and more uncomfortable, but he couldn't just snatch her it and turn it on without her permission. Nancy would definitely wreak havoc if he were to cross that line. So, as helpless as he was, he raised the corners of his mouth and lay down beside her unwillingly.
