The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 308

Jessie walked confidently, surprising all the doctors she passed.

"What's up with her today? Why is she so energetic? Didn't Director Nancy hit her?" someone asked in a low voice.

"She seems like a completely different person from yesterday!" someone remarked.

Jessie stopped to address them, "Don't talk nonsense. Director Nancy didn't hit me. I felt dizzy and happened to faint yesterday. It has nothing to do with Director Nancy!"

"Are you sure? That wasn't what you told us yesterday. You said it was Director Nancy who..." the man interjected.

"I told you, I was dizzy yesterday. I don't remember anything I said. Don't take it too seriously. I'm going to go and explain what happened to her now. She... She's actually a good woman!" Jessie said, blushing.

"What? Jessie’s acting so weird today. I can't believe she actually said something nice about Director Nancy. She told me before that she couldn’t stand Director Nancy. Why the sudden change of heart today?"

"Who knows? Maybe she misunderstood Director Nancy."

"Director Nancy is a good doctor," someone argued.

"I agree with you on that. Director Nancy doesn’t try to milk her patients for more money the way Jessie does!" After one person made that claim, everyone started to talk about it amongst themselves.

Jessie's face reddened in embarrassment. She had only tried to ask for a little extra money, but now she was being judged so harshly for it. After the embarrassment subsided, she couldn't help but feel irritated. How could she not blame Nancy now?

If it weren't for Nancy, why would Charles have any reason to punish her? How did she get to this point? When did she become a target for public criticism?

Regardless if Nancy did it on purpose or not, or whether Anna was trying to stir up some drama, it still had something to do with Nancy.

Setting aside thoughts of their past grievances, Jessie still felt she had to thank her for the time being.

Jessie hurriedly ran out to the outpatient department.

She arrived to see the waiting hall full of people.

Standing at the entrance of the outpatient department, she craned her neck to look for Nancy. She found her busy examining a patient.

By the look of things, it seemed like the patient was suffering from a fracture.

Nancy raised her head and found Jessie walking towards her.

Knowing her intentions for coming to see her at this time, Nancy greeted her with a friendly smile.

Jessie greeted her back with a smile of her own.

Nancy turned to face the patient again, rechecking his wound. Seeing her preoccupied, Jessie decided to come and see her again at another time.

There was no doubt Nancy would have her hands full all day.

Fortunately for her, she could leave work on time, regardless of how many more patients needed addressing.

Rubbing the back of her neck, Nancy took out her phone to check the time. It wasn't too late yet. She still had enough time to pick up the children. Quickly sending a message to Charles, she informed him that she would go and pick up the children.

After reading her message, Charles smiled to himself in satisfaction.

He had been hoping for Nancy to spend more time with the children, instead of ignoring them because of her busy schedule.

With a smile on his face, he replied, "That's nice to hear, Nancy. I have a business dinner scheduled tonight. I’m afraid I'll be home late. Go ahead and have dinner with the kids. You don't have to wait for me."

'This man is busy again socializing!’ Nancy thought and sighed in resignation.

"No problem!" she replied.

Putting her phone away, she left the room to go change and continued to drive to the kindergarten.

After school, Bobby and Nadia were waiting together to be picked up. When they saw Nancy walk towards them, they both smiled at her, delighted that she was the one coming to pick them up.

As they walked back to the car, the three talked about how their day went, laughing amongst themselves.

Nancy figured she would take this chance to take the children out to eat since Charles wouldn't be home till late.

"Kids, would you want to eat out instead of having dinner at home? What would you like to eat?" Nancy asked them as she patted their heads affectionately.

Nadia considered her question, tapping her bottom lip as she thought about what she wanted to eat. "I want... pig's feet!" she finally said. She had always been fond of greasy food, and pig's feet were her favorite.
