The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 375

Perhaps it was because Doris was too tired and disheartened, but when a car sped right over her, she didn't bother to dodge away. It seemed to her that the best thing to do by this point was to just leave the world this way. If she was simply dead, all the sorrow and pain would be over.

"Hey, girl! Are you insane?" A person suddenly pulled her hard from behind and the car swiftly whooshed past her.

"You bitch! If you want to die, you should go home and find a rope to hang yourself! Don't hurt me in the process!" the driver shouted angrily at her.

A melancholic smile appeared on Doris' lips. She raised her head and the looked at the woman who was holding her arm. "Why did you save me?" she asked.

The person who saved her was an elder woman, who looked like she was past her 50's. Although she covered her face with heavy makeup, the wrinkles on her face were still very apparent.

"Silly girl. Since I saw it happening, of course I must save you." The woman brought her to a bar by the roadside and asked Doris to sit down. A few moments later she came back and brought her a hot cup of coffee. "Have some coffee to warm up your body."

Doris meekly took the cup with both her hands and thanked the woman

The woman smiled back at her and raised her hand to smoothen the hair that was covering her face. "What happened to you?" "Ah... I was framed," answered Doris in a frail, low voice.

"You really are silly girl, aren't you? Even if you have been framed, you should still strive for a better life. Why would you want to die? You really don't seem very ambitious. Tell me, who had you offended?" Despite the reprimanding nature of her words, her voice was very gentle.

"Samuel Liang..."

The woman's face froze with her mouth wide open from shock. After a long lingering silence, she asked, "Myron Liang?"

Doris was swirling the cup of coffee with her hands and nodded gently.

"Then you... I... Oh!" The woman's smile was not as calm was it was just a little while ago. The corners of her lips were a little stiff from tension. "Girl, I still have a little money left with me. Come on, take it and leave this place as soon as possible!"

With uncertainty, Doris took the money, her body trembling all over with fear.

After that, Doris left the small town and came to this city to turn over a new leaf. She finished her education while working a part-time job.

Over the years, whenever Doris was with her classmates or workmates, she never mentioned any of her family or relatives.

Now that she suddenly saw Felix again, the scar that she buried for so long had suddenly been dug out and immediately bled.

When Nancy noticed that Doris face turned incredibly pale, she took her hand and said, "Let's go, Doris."

Doris had mentioned Felix to Nancy several times before, but every time she did, she always seemed to think greatly of the man.

She always said that he was her first love.

However, this time Doris didn't look happy to see him at all.

Nancy assumed that Felix must have done something to hurt Doris.

It was true that every time Doris talked about Felix in front her Nancy, she would always say that he was a tender, warm and good man.

But she was simply thinking about a memory and fantasy that had been long gone.

She only thought of the memories of when he was still her first love.

It could also be said that her behavior was a form of escape, self-consolation or self-deception.

That seemed to be the only case; otherwise, she wouldn't be feeling all the pain and suffering she was right now.

"Doris, I beg you. I am really sorry for whatever happened in the past. However, my mother is seriously ill. All she wants is to see you and apologize to you properly!" Felix pleaded as he grabbed Doris' arm. He seemed anxious and feeble.

When Nancy saw this man, she thought it was the kind of man he despised the most-men who were weak and melancholic, as if they were begging for pity.

People should be more realistic than to live in a reverie of a daydream. Love and romance were nothing but a false reality.

So she hastily grabbed Doris' arm and told him off. "Felix, if you want to be a man, you need to let go of Doris. You can clearly see that she is now pregnant. It doesn't matter what happened between the two of you before because she is now someone else's wife. Don't try to look for her anymore!"

Felix completely ignored Nancy's words and presence.
