The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 389

Jay was at a meeting with the shareholders when his phone rang. He saw that the call was from Nancy.

He hesitated for a moment before answering it.

"Hello, Jay. Do you know where Doris is?" Nancy asked anxiously from the other end.

"Isn't she at home? What's the problem?"

"I don't know what's with her today. She called me several times, but I couldn't answer because I was doing an operation. Now, I've tried to call her back. I'm not getting through. I'm quite worried about her,'¹ Nancy explained doubtfully.

Without a word, Jay hung up the phone and called the servants.

They were waiting downstairs.

"Where is Doris?" he asked urgently.

"She is upstairs, sir," came their confident reply.

"Go and check her for me. Hurry!" he shouted.

"Yes, sir! Yes, sir!" One of the servants trembled and ran upstairs. When she opened the door, she was so much overcome with fear that she almost dropped to the ground.

"Sir!"

"What's the problem? Answer me!"

"She is missing!" the servant said alarmingly. She was still much shaken.

Jay got up and rushed towards the elevator.

"But sir, the meeting is still in progress," his secretary blurted, confused.

Jay ignored her and went into the elevator quickly.

Immediately he got out, he called the police and told them to look for Doris.

'Please, be safe, Doris. If anything wrong happens to you, I won't forgive you.' He drove to the police station and demanded that they used the surveillance cameras to search for her.

Of a truth, Doris was not as fragile as Jay thought. Although she had had a lot of bad experiences, suicide was a foolish thing for her.

She hadn't brought any money with her. And she had wanted to find Jay but didn't know where to look. She would have gone to Felix, but she couldn't get a taxi. So, she had turned off her phone and strolled over the moat by herself. When she was tired, she sat on the edge of a foot bridge and continued enjoying the view while swinging her legs.

The siren became louder as the police cars approached, but Doris didn't seem to notice. Even when Jay came out of the car, she didn't see him as she continued to view the scenery absentmindedly.

Her arms were wrapped around her knees while she looked down at the people going and coming.

"Mr. Fang, people who are suicidal are more scared of stimulation. You must be careful not to excite her, or she'll get more drastic." Jay was walking up slowly with a policeman.

He nodded.

He gave a hint to the police, and they approached Doris gently. Then he grabbed her as fast as he could.

"What are you doing?" Doris was shocked when she felt someone grabbing her. Realizing that it was Jay, the corners of her mouth twitched. "You! Now I know you can't do without following women! Why did you follow me here? I'm not a bird, am I? Is that why you locked me in your cage?"
