The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 578

Charles leaned forward and stared straight into Nancy's eyes. "Who bought it for you?"

"Oh, I had an operation this afternoon. My dress was splashed with coffee, so I bought one and changed it. Is there a problem?" Although Nancy didn't want to lie to Charles, she was forced to do so.

"Nothing. You look good no matter what you wear. Well, Hiram bought western food for the children. I see that you're beginning to like western food more. How does it taste?" His voice was dripping with sarcasm.

"It tastes good. Would you like some?" There was definitely wrong with Charles today, but Nancy couldn't tell what it was.

When Charles went to the bathroom to wash his hands, Nancy tried to think but she really couldn't figure it out.

After washing his hands, Charles sat down opposite to Nancy and picked up the chicken burger which Hiram bought for them to eat.

While eating, he said vaguely, "Hiram really didn't know how to buy food for the children. He should've bought steak instead. This burger is too plain and boring."

Today, Rick ordered steak for Nancy, so Charles said these words just to embarrass her.

With a cold face, Nancy ate the chicken burger silently.

The truth was, she and Rick had eaten a lot in the restaurant. She was already full as they chatted.

But since she didn't want to reveal her little secret, she had no choice but to eat the food in front of her even though she could barely chew it.

"Nancy, you've done an operation this afternoon, so you should eat more. Eat these two burgers here." The quieter Nancy was, the angrier Charles became. He pushed the burger in front of Nancy.

"Yes, Mommy, you should eat more so that you can be full!" To Charles' delight, Nadia helped him urge Nancy to eat.

"Ah, Mommy is tired but not really hungry. I'm full." However, Nancy pushed it back in and looked at Charles.

"I heard from Hiram that you had something urgent to deal with. You must be very hungry now. You can eat more."

Her attempt to sound casual annoyed Charles more. "Don't you want to know what I did?"

Before she replied, Nancy stood up to go to the bathroom. "You're the CEO. It's normal for you to have something urgent. I can understand."

"So, don't you care about what I have done?" Charles snorted.

"It's not that I don’t care. It's just that it's not my job. It doesn't seem appropriate for me to ask too much. After all, I'm not familiar with business." As she tried to explain, she felt more afraid that Charles would get to the bottom of her.

"Didn't they say that couples should give each other some space so that they can last for a long time?" said Nancy.

Then she shuffled, obviously guilty for hiding something from him.

Seeing the look on her face only made Charles snort again.

"You mean we shouldn't interfere with each other anymore? Nancy, you are so generous." There was a hint of jealousy and annoyance in his voice. How could Nancy say these words as if they weren't a couple?

"As long as you don't cross the line, I think I can accept it." A small smile appeared on Nancy’s face.

Frowning, Charles asked, "Tell me, what is crossing the line for you?"

"Well... You can't mess around outside...'¹ Every word he said was like a poison trying to kill her, which made Nancy feel even more uneasy.

What happened to him?

Or did he know something?
