As soon as the Great Elder left, James and Wynton began discussing telepathically.
James said, “There’s definitely something wrong. This place doesn’t look anything like the headquarters of a corrupted sect.”
Wynton replied, “Yeah, I was thinking the same. It’s surrounded by abundant Empyrean Spiritual Energy and has no traces of corrupted aura. If it really is the Malvada Sect’s headquarters, it would’ve been impossible for them to completely prevent the aura from leaking out.”
The two were puzzled and wondered whether there was a mistake with the Verde Academy’s intel.
After a simple exchange, they waited patiently.
Meanwhile, a beautiful woman played the piano outside a wooden house deep within a purple bamboo forest at the Tarbitha Sect’s back mountain. The piano’s beautiful notes spread throughout the mountain.
The Great Elder came to the wooden house but did not interrupt the woman.
Soon, her piece came to an end.
The woman asked, “What’s the matter?”
The Great Elder clasped his fists and said, “Madam, two powerhouses have shown up and are requesting to join the Tarbitha Sect. I couldn’t decide, so I came to report it to you.”
The woman smiled faintly and said, “Haha. Our various bases were wiped out recently, and now two powerhouses have come to join our sect? What a coincidence.”
“Are you saying the powerhouses that showed up were the culprits that destroyed our bases?” The Great Elder was slightly taken aback.
