Yuri was about to make his way to Capital City, a decision kept tightly under wraps.
Only the family was in the know.
Holden hadn’t expected Yuri to leave. He waited until Brittany was asleep before seeking Yuri out.
“Dad, you’re really heading to Capital City?”
Yuri had been anticipating his visit and was ready for him.
He handed over a folder: “Take a seat, I’ve got something I need to talk to you about.”
Holden was confused, “What’s this?”
Upon opening it, he found shares, financial products, and several investment projects inside.
“Dad, what’s all this about?”
“You’ve grown up as part of the Lynette family, and I’ve seen your contributions over the years,” Yuri said solemnly. “I’ve decided to step down. Leaving the Lynette Conglomerate in Brittany’s hands, I’m at ease.”
“You have exceptional talents, I’ve always known that…” Yuri said with a hint of guilt. “I’ve tried to treat you as my own son over the years, but I couldn’t manage it. Even now, my favoritism towards Brittany is undeniable.”
Blood ties are indissoluble.
In his eyes, Brittany was his dearest.
He admitted his selfishness; despite his efforts, he couldn’t see Holden as his own son.
“This is something I’ve prepared for you long ago.”
“It’s enough to support you for the rest of your life.”
Yuri’s generosity was boundless; the contents of the folder were worth billions. Not just for a lifetime, but for generations to come!
Holden’s eyes welled up, “Dad, I can’t accept this.”
He was an orphan.
Without the Lynette family’s adoption, he might have starved to death on some cold night.
Yuri wasn’t perfect towards him.
But over the years, he never worried about food or shelter and received the best education, the greatest opportunity to showcase his abilities.
Holden was immensely grateful.
