Brittany moved closer to him, planting a passionate kiss between his eyebrows. "Zakky, my grandma seems to really like you."
She'd been worried that her grandma might not take to him.
But their interactions today made it clear that her grandma really liked him, relieving her of some anxiety.
"I like your grandma too." Isaac paused before adding, "In a bit of time, I'll bring her over to meet my folks. Sound good?"
"Sounds good."
After they had some cuddle time, Brittany went back to her room.
Donna Dustin was still up and propped up in bed. Seeing Brittany come in, she waved her over. "Come here."
"Grandma, why aren't you sleeping yet?"
"I can't sleep."
Donna Dustin let out a heavy sigh. "Tell me, is Zac treating you okay?"
"Donna, don't worry about me; Zakky's been nothing but wonderful."
Brittany's eyes were filled with laughter.
Knowing her personality, Donna Dustin knew she wouldn't lie, which put her at ease. "I know you never tell me when things are bad; you don't want me worrying. But, Bri, I want you to be happy too. I really like Zac; he's a real step up from Finn. You make sure you live well, got that?"
Donna Dustin had been regretting for years that she wasn't there more for Julie when she was alive.
"Grandma, let's not talk about Finn."
His name was bad luck!
Her grandmother had never liked Finn from the start. She should've heeded her advice more seriously, but she hadn't. Looking back, her grandma was really insightful.
"Alright, alright, I won't bring him up again. You're such a mature kid."
Donna Dustin affectionately pinched her nose. "If anything ever happens, you let me know, alright?"
