Donna Dustin's face slightly shifted in the audience.
Just then.
BANG!
The door was pushed open.
A slender figure walked in, and when her face was recognized, the whole room was immediately buzzing.
"Jolin!"
"She's Brittany's lawyer? The top lawyer in the country who had never lost a case!"
"I can't believe it; Jolin is known for economic law; why would she take this case?"
"Now that Jolin is here, there's only one possible outcome."
Whispers filled the courtroom; Patrina's smug expression froze. No one expected that Brittany would get Jolin!
Jolin slowly walked to the plaintiff's bench, apologizing to the judge. "Sorry, Your Honor, I had an important meeting this morning, so I'm late."
The judge, aware of Jolin's capabilities, didn't dare to offend her, "Now that you're here, let's get this trial started!"
With Jolin there, Brittany breathed a sigh of relief.
The evidence was clear. Patrina's guilt was undeniable.
As the case was nearing its conclusion, Brittany sat sternly, her gaze steady, locked onto Patrina on the defendant's bench, sparks flying as their eyes met.
Isaac sat with Donna Dustin in the audience. Donna sighed as she watched the scene unfold.
Patrina was headed for prison; she brought this all on herself!
Just as the judge was about to speak, Patrina showed no fear and even a bit of smugness.
However, Brittany felt a weight lifted off her chest.
"Objection, Your Honor."
The defense attorney stood up. "Our client, Patrina, is pregnant and requests to serve her sentence at home."
Jolin's gaze remained steady. "The defendant, being pregnant, can indeed apply for home sentencing."
"But," She looked at Patrina. "Can the defendant provide medical records? We now have reason to doubt that the defendant is using her pregnancy to evade legal punishment!"
The judge agreed.
