Manuel was so pissed off: "Isaac!"
Isaac, having no time for this, hung up the phone and blocked Manuel.
The dude never acted like a father, now he was trying to control him? Dream on!
After fainting at an industry cocktail party, Loraine was taken to a private hospital by the Field family.
Apart from visiting Brittany once, she spent the rest of the time at the hospital undergoing treatment.
Loraine's mother, Susan, was pretty ticked off at Isaac, "Zac, really, is it necessary to hold onto grudges from three years ago?"
Back in the day, the Salter family's drama was a big deal; everyone knew about it. Who would've thought Isaac could bounce back from it and turn things around?
Besides, he hadn't even made an alliance through marriage with the Field family yet. Why was he stirring up trouble now?
Jason, who was serving soup to Loraine, frowned, "Stirring up trouble? We were the ones in the wrong back then; no wonder Zac holds a grudge."
"Haven't you also washed your hands of it?"
Susan frowned. She didn't think the Field family was in the wrong. That was just how people in their line of business behaved. They were running a business, not a charity.
"Enough, you should pipe down." Jason said in a deep voice, "Zac is pissed at us; we should talk things out. If the benefits are enough, there's still hope for this marriage."
The Field family hadn't planned to ditch Isaac. Once an alliance was formed, the rise of the Field family was only a matter of time.
"Speaking of, Loraine, do you know Zac's wife?"
Loraine held her soup but had no appetite for it, "I do."
She didn't tell her family about Isaac and Brittany's relationship. Once the word got out, everyone would know Brittany was Mrs. Salter. What would that leave her with?
"Do you have a plan to deal with her?"
"Dad, don't worry, I can handle her." Loraine smirked.
She didn't take Brittany seriously at all. Dealing with Brittany was a piece of cake.
Just at that moment, there was a knock at the door.
The door to the hospital room opened, and Derek stood outside holding a bouquet of lilies. Seeing Jason and Susan, he greeted them cordially.
"Derek, you're here. Have a seat."
Susan quite liked Derek. He was handsome and spoke sweetly, much more likable than the cold Isaac.
