Loraine totally lost it. The collection actually belonged to Brittany! Gifted to her by Mr. Edgar himself, how could that be possible?
Wasn't Brittany a nobody? It took her over three years to clean up her bad rep, but she had been leasing this collection more than six months ago!
After a brief silence, the room erupted into chaos.
"The collection was actually a gift to Brittany from Mr. Edgar?"
"No wonder Brittany has photos. Loraine is claiming a rented item was a gift from Mr. Edgar."
Guests were chattering away.
Hudson turned to Brittany, took a closer look, and gasped.
It was her! He had seen Brittany before at the Crawley family home when Mr. Edgar was trying to take her under his wing!
Hudson's gaze softened as he asked, "Ms. Dustin, wasn't this collection a gift to you from Mr. Edgar? How did it end up here?”
Brittany seemed helpless, "I was short of cash before, so I rented out this collection on the black market, just to tide over the difficulties. But never would I have guessed, it was leased by Ms. Field."
"Brittany, you set me up!" Loraine's eyes were filled with rage, "You knew all along that I was the one who leased this collection, so you deliberately teamed up with Mr. Hudson just to ruin my party, right?”
Absolutely! This was a play staged by Hudson and Brittany, just to smear her reputation!
Brittany responded with resignation, "Ms. Field, did I force you to rent this collection? Did I force you to publicly lie, saying it was a gift from Mr. Edgar to you?"
Renting the collection, lying publicly, weren't those Loraine's own choices?
How dare she accuse others of scheming against her?
Loraine was left speechless and her eyes began to redden. Gloria couldn't stand it anymore.
