William set down the plate, took a beat, and said, "No need to thank me."
Through the years, the two words Brittany said to him the most were "sorry" and "thank you."
Brittany walked over to the table and asked, "Have you eaten yet?"
"Not yet," William responded.
Then, William went back to the kitchen, took out a plate, and dished up some spaghetti for himself. He then pulled Brittany down to sit with him.
Brittany caught a whiff of the spaghetti, and her stomach started grumbling.
She took a bite and found that the spaghetti William made was scrumptious.
"Delicious," she praised wholeheartedly.
Upon hearing her compliment, William's mouth curved into a slight smile. "I've taken care of the issue with the Palmer family. They won't mess with you anymore."
He wouldn't let that scumbag James appear in front of Brittany again.
"Good," Brittany responded.
After finishing the spaghetti, Brittany felt content.
William wanted to do the dishes, but Brittany stopped him and said, "You go and take care of your work. I'll clean up the kitchen."
Indeed, William had a meeting to attend to. Hearing her suggestion, he nodded and said, "Be careful then."
Brittany cleaned up the kitchen, and when she came out, she brought a plate of fresh fruit and placed it next to William.
William gave her a nod of gratitude.
There was nothing much left to eat at home. Brittany changed her clothes, said goodbye to William, and went downstairs to the supermarket.
She had just moved in, and the area was a bit complicated, like a maze, so it took her a while to find the supermarket.
She bought a lot of food at the supermarket. By the time she left, it was already half an hour later.
