Brittany got a mild internal bleeding in her stomach after being kicked. She insisted on checking out of the hospital after getting an IV drip.
Before she left, the doctor warned her, "Your stomach is not in a good shape. You need to take it easy and avoid getting too emotional."
Brittany's stomach was already sensitive. With her emotional state and the kick she received, a severe internal bleeding could have been life-threatening.
Brittany thanked the doctor and then called Hannah since she couldn't drive herself.
Hannah rushed over and angrily said, "What the hell is wrong with the Dustin family? Why do they spoil Patrina like that? And you, why didn't you call me sooner when you got kicked?"
As Hannah rambled on, she worriedly looked at Brittany's pale face and couldn't help but shed tears. "Bri, how could Finn be such a jerk and let you be treated like this?"
"Let's not talk about him."
Brittany leaned back in the passenger seat, "He's not the Finn I knew." The Finn who used to cherish her as if she was a treasure was gone.
"If I knew this would happen, you should have never..." Hannah began to scold.
"Okay, take me home."
Brittany told her the address and Hannah draped a coat over her, "Okay."
Half an hour later, Hannah was dumbfounded looking at the dilapidated building in front of her.
"Bri, you live here?"
Even though Brittany's relationship with the Dustin family had broken down, it wasn't bad enough for her to live in such a place!
"Let's go upstairs first."
Brittany was too weak to talk and Hannah helped her. They struggled to walk up the stairs. By the time Hannah helped her into the living room, Brittany was drenched in sweat, obviously very uncomfortable.
Hannah went to the kitchen, found a kettle, and made her a cup of water. "Now, spill it."
"Robert wanted to marry me off to Johnny. I disagreed so I married someone else." Brittany said briefly, "I'll introduce you to him when I get the chance."
Hannah suddenly understood, "So the friend you mentioned before is him?"
"Yes."
Hannah slapped her forehead, "Bri, you're too impulsive. You married a random guy. Aren't you afraid of being used?"
"I didn't have a better solution."
Brittany held her stomach and spoke softly. Who would choose to marry a stranger if not forced to?
Hannah looked around the small two-bedroom apartment, "Is this guy not well-off? This place is so run-down."
Hannah, who born in a superior family, despised such a house.
"It's rented."
Hannah said, "Bri, you're the heiress of the Dustin family. How could you marry a man like this?" Hannah thought she was crazy, "There were so many better choices if you wanted to get married. Why did you do this?"
If she truly wanted to marry, Hannah thought there were better candidates.
"Hannah, I'm already married. Let's stop talking about it."
Brittany didn't like people badmouthing Isaac, after all, he was her husband in the eyes of the law.
Knowing Brittany would defend her husband, Hannah sighed, "Since he's your husband, give me his resume when you have time. I'll submit it for you. At least he can get a job. The company won't mind having one more employee."
Grandeur Capital was a well-known big company. If Brittany's husband could get in, his salary would increase and indirectly help Brittany.
"Thank you."
