Hannah waited for a while before she said, "This is the best it's gonna get."
"Bri, you made the right call with William." Hannah commented as a mutual friend who had hoped more than anyone that they'd work things out.
But she also knew that if a relationship wasn't built on love, it was not gonna stand the test of time.
"You might have agreed to be with William, but the reality is that your feelings for him are not love."
Brittany knew Hannah was right. She nestled into Hannah's shoulder and said, "If only I could have had feelings for him from the get-go."
"You can't force these things." Hannah comforted her. "Considering everything, it's probably for the best."
They chatted till the wee hours and naturally woke up late.
Brittany left Hannah's place after lunch and went back to Bri-jeweled Studio. She found out Joseph Palmer had been sniffing around and had a spat with Kari Malone.
"Ms. Dustin, better watch your back," her assistant warned, sensing Joseph's ill intent.
After wrapping up work in her office, Brittany decided to set aside two days at the end of the month to attend Lionel’s wedding.
At four in the afternoon, Brittany left work early to pick up her son from kindergarten.
The school was letting out, and kids were streaming out. Brittany spotted Daniel right away.
After noticing her, Daniel bolted into her arms. "Mommy, you came to get me."
Brittany held him and smiled. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I was at your godmother's house last night and couldn't make it."
Daniel shook his head. "It's okay, Mommy."
"Daniel, is this your mom?" A little girl asked.
