Nathan was behind the wheel, thinking to himself, "Trust Mr. Salter to just hand over billions of dollars just like that."
Brittany was barely able to hear what Isaac was saying. She was burning up, and her body was trembling slightly, like a leaf in the autumn wind.
"Feeling sick?"
Brittany was no stranger to social gatherings and her stomach had taken a beating over the years. She had drunk too much that night and was then experiencing painful stomach cramps.
Isaac knew about her stomach problems. He reached out and placed his warm hand on her abdomen, gently rubbing it to help soothe her discomfort.
"Drive faster!" Isaac lifted his head and urged Nathan in a remarkably different tone than his gentle demeanor towards Brittany.
"Also, get a doctor."
"Sure thing."
The black sedan sped off and arrived at Radiant Residences. Isaac carried Brittany out of the car. The butler, Emily, heard the commotion and went out to greet them.
"Is Ms. Dustin drunk?"
"Yes, Emily. Can you make a bowl of hangover soup?"
Isaac carried Brittany off while Emily hurried upstairs to prepare the soup. The doctor had already arrived.
Isaac laid Brittany down on the bed and gestured to the doctor, "Please, check on her."
After a thorough examination, the doctor gave Isaac a peculiar look. "Mr. Salter, Ms. Dustin's stomach condition is quite serious. Years of excessive drinking and poor sleep habits will eventually take a toll on her health."
