BANG!
The hospital room door was forcefully pushed open.
A slender figure barged in. Brittany threw herself onto the bed and hugged Daniel as tightly as she could. Her voice was choked with emotion, and tears were endlessly streaming down her face. "Daniel…"
Daniel instinctively held his mom, barely noticing that his shoulder was quickly drenched with her tears.
"Mom…" Daniel's voice was hoarse.
Brittany released him and took a hard look at him. Seeing that he was truly awake, her heart, which was hanging in mid air, finally settled down.
Isaac got up and moved aside, giving them enough time to bond.
Brittany, holding back her tears, couldn't help but kiss him.
Daniel enjoyed her intimacy, and his eyes were shining brightly. "Mom, Mom."
After Brittany had calmed down, she let go of Daniel. "It's good that you're awake. Are you tired?"
Daniel was indeed tired, but he didn't want Brittany to worry.
"I’m not tired."
Brittany could tell he was lying. Although she wanted to know how he had fallen, she knew that his recovery was more important.
Daniel could no longer hold on and soon fell asleep in Brittany's arms.
Isaac worried that she might tire herself out. "You should put him down and go rest."
Brittany laid Daniel down and adjusted his blanket. "Once Daniel is discharged, you and Grace can visit him at my house."
She wouldn't let Daniel step foot in Radiant Residences or the Salter Manor anymore.
She couldn't bear another disaster.
Isaac bit his lip. "You know this situation has nothing to do with Grandma."
Grace was already blaming herself for Daniel's hospitalization. If she learned of how Brittany was feeling, she would feel even worse.
“That’s your problem.”
Brittany lifted her head, and her red-rimmed eyes cast a disdainful gaze at Isaac’s tall figure. "I have no reason to put my son in danger for your affairs."
