"No need; I can handle it." Allison's face was as white as a sheet. She was gripping her dress tightly, refusing to let go.

"Penelope!" The tense atmosphere was broken by Leah Flanagan-Eaden's voice, calling from the doorway, "Lucian is here too? You guys are..."

Lucian pulled his hands back, glanced at Allison, and said calmly, "Penelope's dress got dirty. I was just helping her change."

"I'll help her. I'll fix Penelope's makeup while I'm at it. Lucian, go downstairs and entertain the guests." Leah Flanagan-Eaden said, blocking Lucian's view of Allison.

Lucian didn't insist, and he turned around to leave.

"You dare talk back!" Leah Flanagan-Eaden glared at her. If it weren't for her face, which looked so much like Penelope's, how could she take such a risk?
