The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 130

Allison bolted from the hospital, making a beeline for Dr. Dylan's place.

With her last memory, she dialed Dr. Dylan while knocking on his door. Before the call could connect, the door was opened by Dr. Dylan's mom, Hertha, who said "Allison, you're here."

"Mrs. Huff, how's Dylan doing?"

Hertha let out a sigh. "Dylan didn't sleep last night; he just kept drinking. He just fell asleep."

Allison glanced at Dr. Dylan sleeping in his bedroom, then returned to the living room. Hertha handed Allison a sliced apple and said, "This came out of nowhere. Dylan may not be the best doctor, but he prepared for this surgery for a long time. There was no way something could go wrong. Now that the patient's family is raising hell, Dylan's been suspended temporarily. He was up for a promotion at the end of the year; he just needed to submit his paper. But who could've seen this coming?"

"Don't worry, everything will be okay." Allison tried to comfort her.

Hertha sighed again. "You don't know; the patient's family has clout. This hit Dylan hard. His dad has gone to see the dean, but the dean's attitude is pretty serious. Also, the patient's family has taken this to court."

Allison started to panic. "How could this happen?"

Tears welled up in Hertha's eyes. "Dylan is my only son; he's always been so good at handling things. He's done this surgery plenty of times; there's no way he could've messed up. His dad thinks I'm being paranoid, but I can't shake the feeling someone's out to get him." Her voice broke off at the end.

Allison didn't know how to comfort Hertha; she glanced toward the bedroom.

She knew Dylan rarely drank—he was almost a teetotaler. He'd have a bit at parties, but last night he got drunk. He must be devastated.

Later, Dr. Dylan's dad, Aherna, came back. Seeing Allison, he was a bit surprised. "Allison's here." He glanced at Hertha and said, "Get Dylan up; he's been sleeping all morning. We shouldn't keep Allison waiting."
