The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 146

She asked twice in a row without getting an answer. Looking up, she saw a man in a suit standing at the kitchen door.

Her kitchen was tiny, with just a fridge, a gas stove, and a small table with some storage shelves.

"Lucian, I thought you had left?" she asked.

Lucian looked around. "You live here?"

Allison frowned. "Haven't you been here before?"

There were only two bedrooms. One was hers and her mother’s; the other was originally her father’s and brother’s.

After they left, she and her mother slept separately, with her mother moving into the other room.

Though the place was small and dim, it was where Allison grew up. It held happy and warm memories for her.

Lucian looked at Allison, who was about to cook, and said, "Make dinner for two."

Allison blinked, spoon in hand, walked out, and looked at the man sitting on the living room couch. His suit contrasted sharply with the simple furnishings here.

She even doubted that his suit might be worth more than her small apartment.

"You're eating here? Lucian, are you kidding me?" She muttered to herself, then returned to the kitchen and made an extra dinner.

Allison had been cooking since she was a child, so her cooking skills were pretty good.

When she came out of the kitchen, Lucian was looking at a painting hanging on the wall.

"This painting is by Connor Flanagan. Connor loved art and calligraphy when he was alive. My father used to be Connor’s driver." And her father was also Connor's adopted son. After Connor's death, he intended to give the Flanagan family's shares to Grace Zimmer-Kane, but Grace didn't accept.

Allison didn't understand why Grace didn't accept.

Her father’s and brother’s deaths were because of the Flanagan family.
