The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 257

The assistant director was redoing some shots with Allison.

Meanwhile, Gavin was on the phone with Penelope's agent, Charlie. "Yeah, the stand-in's here. We've finished shooting, would you please send Ms. Flanagan over?"

"What?" Gavin raised an eyebrow, his voice hitching. "Penelope's sleeping?"

Charlie sounded irritated. "Gavin, keep your voice down. What if you wake Penelope up? She's pregnant, and she needs rest. It's already afternoon. Whatever it is can wait until Penelope wakes up."

Gavin was at the end of his tether. "Charlie, you know we're shooting at Red Jack Club today, and we've only rented it for one day. Everyone's waiting, and if we go overtime, it's gonna cost a bomb! I've already found the stand-in you guys wanted!"

Charlie retorted, "Gavin, what's more important than Penelope's rest? Epic Entertainment invested so much money, isn't it so that Penelope can have a good time shooting and rest well on set? If you wake Penelope up forcibly and she doesn't get enough rest, it might harm her baby. Remember, Penelope is Mr. Lindberg's fiancée."

Gavin blew his top, chucking his phone onto the ground and laying into the assistant director.

The assistant director just stood there, taking it on the chin.

This was a first for Gavin in his seven years in the industry.

Penelope was really just here to have a vacation with the baby. The worst part was that he couldn't afford to piss her off.

Everyone watched Gavin, getting the picture.

As the makeup artist was touching up Leila's makeup, she stood up and said, "Gavin, since Penelope couldn't make it, we can't afford to delay our progress. My contract says I only shoot until 6 PM. After that, you'll have to renegotiate my fee."

Gavin frowned. "Leila, we'll leave today's scenes for another day," he told the crew. "Let's switch up the location."

Leila suggested, "Gavin, these scenes are crucial. Why not let the stand-in do it? She's a way better actress than Penelope, plus they look alike. With some makeup and clever camera angles, no one will notice."

She didn't like sharing scenes with Penelope. She'd rather work with the stand-in.
