The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 39

Allison's gaze turned a bit dull. She lifted her head to look at him, her face beaming with a smile, "Sure."

She hesitated momentarily, biting her lip, eventually giving him the gift she had prepared.

This gift costing a few bucks might seem cheaper than his personal belongings.

"A few days ago, when I was out shopping, I bought a tie," Allison said while taking out a handbag from her bag. She opened the paper box inside, revealing a dark green tie. Even though it was just a plain brand in the luxury world, it was bought with the money Allison had been saving for a long time.

She didn't look at him, nor did she dare to ask if he liked it.

Seeing the careful woman before him, a hint of surprise crossed Lucian’s eyes.

He kissed her hand gently, his voice filled with affection, "It's lovely; I really like it. Help me put it on."

Allison's nervous mood relaxed slightly after hearing these words.

She reached out to remove the tie he was already wearing, her fingertips lightly stroking his neck.

Lucian watched her closely, seeing her blushing face, standing on her toes to tie the tie for him; an inexplicable sense of happiness surged in his heart.

Suddenly, he noticed a hint of red in her eyes; he held her tightly, frowning, "What's wrong, not happy?"

Allison was no longer careful; she boldly embraced him, her cheek resting on his muscular chest, her voice a bit choked up, "Mmm, I'm going to miss you."

Hearing her words, Lucian couldn't help but laugh; it was the first time she had shown such tenderness in front of him.

He lovingly stroked her hair, "I'll be gone for just two weeks; I promise I'll be back as soon as possible."

She looked into his gentle eyes, the morning sun shining on him, making him appear softer, devoid of his usual cold aura and the usual aloofness.

She bit her lip, her eyes a bit sour; she couldn't help but ask, "Lucian, do you like me? Do you like the current me?"

She only wanted to hear him say he liked her once; it had nothing to do with anyone else's feelings.

Even when he returns, she might still be the Allison he couldn't touch.

“What do you think? Penelope, you're my fiancée.”

He spoke softly, kissing her forehead.

Allison lowered her head, hiding a hint of gloom in her eyes.
