No doubt, the call wasn't actually going through. But as actors, they needed to make it look as real as pie.

The plot had Megan inviting Olivia for a walk in the park.

Megan brought up Yara, and Olivia, wanting to clear the air between them, took the initiative to call Yara and handed the phone over to Megan. Megan was now on the line with Yara.
