The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 439

Sadie didn't want Emma as her agent; she'd rather back her own kin. When she heard that Emma planned to resign, she was pretty stoked. But when she noticed Patty's gaze, she felt a chill down her spine.

As an experienced agent, Patty was a real heavy hitter for Sadie, the newbie.

Emma hesitated, then shook her head, "Nah, I need a break. Patty, I'm sorry."

Sidney said, "Emma, don't be too quick to say no. You've got family stuff that needs funding, and you shouldn't quit on a whim. Finding a new job will take time, and I paired you with Sadie because you're really detail-oriented. I've got a script to prepare, and I'll be dealing with the crew a lot. Sadie doesn't have anyone else suitable."

Sadie cut her off right away, "Sidney, I think Kendra is great. She's really detail-oriented and knows my likes and dislikes. I think she's perfect. When Emma is around, I can't find her half the time."

Emma found Sadie's words laughable, "Sadie, every time you call for me, I'm there at the drop of a hat."

Sadie huffed, "Patty."

If Patty couldn't see that Sadie was trying to get rid of Emma and put her own relative in place, then she had been wasting her time in showbiz. She gave Sidney a look that seemed like a reproach, and Sidney felt the pressure.

Patty said, "I recall our company has a rule that agents have to give a two month notice before quitting. Emma, even if you apply now, you can only leave after two months. If you bail just like that, what others would think of our company?"

Emma got it, company rules were usually pretty strict. She didn’t argue, "I understand."

Sadie was still unsatisfied.
