The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 448

After washing her hands and touching up her makeup in the restroom, Daisy accidentally bumped into someone. Rubbing her nose, she grumbled, "Man, are you made of iron or what? That hurt."

Wilton heard her complaint and instinctively muttered, "Sorry." Looking up, he recognized her as the girl who'd been sitting behind him. What was her name again? He gave her a quick once-over. Without the dim restaurant lights and seating in the way, her face was clear. She had smooth skin and delicate features, quite pretty. She didn't seem flippant, but her language was pretty crude.

Raising an eyebrow, Wilton asked, "You okay?"

Rubbing her nose again, feeling like it had almost been smashed, Daisy replied, "I'm fine."

Her voice was a bit nasal. She walked away without a second glance at Wilton, treating the whole thing as a minor incident.

Back at the table, she complained to Allison, "Man, today's just not my day. Dropped my phone this morning and cracked the screen, got oil on my clothes during lunch, bumped into someone coming out of the restroom, and nearly broke my nose. Lucky my nose is real, or there would've been real trouble. I swear, that guy must be made of steel or something."

Back at his table, Wilton overheard Daisy's grumbles. He glanced at his jacket, and there were two shiny metal buttons gleaming. Daisy must've hit one of them. He had no idea why Daisy was so peeved at him. Did she have to air her grievances in public?

Daisy had piqued Wilton's interest.

At 9 p.m., Wilton arrived home. He didn't come home often, but tonight, he had things to do.

Mina was sitting on the couch and looking at him, "Wilton, you're back. Your brother's condition is deteriorating. We were just upstairs with him, but he's asleep now. John is guarding outside. He trusts you the most. Go check on him."

"Sure, I got it." Wilton handed his jacket to a servant and headed upstairs.

Mina sat on the sofa, sipping from her glass. She gestured to the servant, who hung up the jacket and carefully ascended the stairs to the third floor, ready to eavesdrop. The housekeeper, Ava, came out with a bowl of soup. Noticing Wilton's jacket on the rack, she spotted a long hair.

"Madam, look at this!" Ava hurriedly handed the jacket to Mina.

Seeing the hair, Mina chuckled, "I knew it."

Wilton was just a spoiled rich kid, hanging out in entertainment venues with dubious women. How could he possibly focus on Boswell Enterprises? He only had the company due to sheer luck. Although it was in his name, the management was entirely left to the vice president, Jenny.

How could such a person be eligible to compete for the family fortune with her son? Once Morgan passed away, wouldn't everything of the Boswell family belong to her and her child?

Ava handed the soup to Mina, "Madam, rest assured. Wilton doesn't stand a chance against your son. We just need to wait for your son to grow up. You'll guide him from behind. When the master passes away, you'll be in charge of the Boswell family. As for Frances… "

Mina took a sip of her soup, "Him? Frances' health…"

Ava whispered, "He won't make it past this year."
