The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 674

He'd barely shown a hint of his feelings when she unceremoniously nipped them in the bud.

Oh, Allison, if only you knew. The moment I first laid eyes on you, I was intrigued.

Back in her hotel room, Paige tossed and turned, sleep eluding her. The words Allison had spoken earlier that evening had thrown her into turmoil.

She was, after all, Patty's mole, planted close to Allison. Her weekly routine included reporting to Patty about Allison’s comings and goings. When Allison caught on to her, she reacted unexpectedly. Any other celebrity might have fired her on the spot or made her life miserable. But Allison offered her a second chance. Now, Paige was at a crossroads, unsure of which path to choose.

Right then, Patty's call came through, checking in on the week's developments with Allison. Paige gave a vague response, "Allison? Oh, she's been busy shooting scenes."

"Her promised gig got pulled. Did she show any signs of resenting me behind my back?" Patty probed.

"No, nothing like that," Paige lied.

Patty was skeptical. "Paige, I've been good to you, haven't I? I'm planning to bring you back next month. I've signed some new talent and I'm looking to have you manage them as an executive agent."

Hope sparked in Paige's eyes. "Really?"

"Absolutely," Patty confirmed. "There's going to be a shake-up at Epic Entertainment's top level next month. Once I become the deputy head, there won't be any need for you to spy on Allison. Then you can come back and step into that executive role."

Paige quickly assured her, "I haven't heard a word from Allison against you. You know her temperament; she's always kind to everyone. Besides, with Miranda personally calling for the casting change, why would she blame you?"
