The Billionaire's Maid Bride novel Chapter 72

Seeing his hesitation, Penelope grabbed his arm, "Lucian, don't go back. It's raining outside, the road is not safe."

"Alright, get a guest room ready for me." He looked at Penelope, "I have a video conference to join soon, I won't be able to keep you company. You should get some sleep."

Lean Flanagan-Eaden chuckled, "Penelope, see how much Lucian cares about you."

As soon as Lucian went upstairs, Lean quickly asked Penelope, "You’ve swapped back with Allison for quite a while now, how are things going? Are you pregnant yet? That's totes the most important thing."

Penelope looked at her, she didn't dare tell Lean that Lucian hasn't touched her at all. Even when she insisted on staying at Juniper Ridge, he'd say that he was swamped with work and sleep in the study at night.

She barely even saw him lately, which is why she couldn't help but look for him at Lindberg Corporation today.

Hearing Lean's urging, she grew more agitated, "Mom, it's not that simple!"

Lucian has been more and more cold towards her lately, or rather... he's never been warm towards her...

Lucian went to smoke on the second floor balcony. He leaned his hands against the window, looking at the pouring rain outside. Suddenly, the headlights of a car caught his eye. It was late and raining heavily, there shouldn't be any guests.

The car parked below, then Allison got out.

The windshield wipers swayed, and a man in the car handed out a black umbrella. Allison shook her head, "I'm almost home, you can use it."

Seeing her insistence, Dr. Dylan sighed, got out of the car, opened the umbrella, shielded her with it, then shoved it into her hands.

Then he drove off.

On the second floor, the smoke masked his handsome face, leaving only a vague silhouette.

Lucian's fingers slowly clenched into a fist, then, his fist slammed down on the window sill.

His eyes slowly filled with coldness.
