The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 100

This piece of chatter was like nails on a chalkboard. Thalassa turned towards the voice, spotting Joie from the Cleaning Department. Joie was around thirty, the second youngest of the cleaning staff.

She took good care of herself, her skin was tight, and her figure well maintained.

Many guys from security had a thing for her. But she always treated them with an air of aloofness, never giving them a second glance.

She aspired to clean the top floors of the company, to be nearer to Lysander.

From the day Thalassa joined the Sinclair group, Joie never liked her. She even confronted director Noreen about it, questioning why Thalassa was assigned to clean the top floor, not her.

The top floor was where all the big shots were. If she could clean there, she'd definitely learn a thing or two, and even get to see Mr. Sinclair every day.

Joie was dying to clean the top floor, but Noreen insisted on assigning Thalassa instead.

Joie was hugely ticked off at Thalassa.

This sarcastic remark left Thalassa feeling quite crappy, she was about to retort.

The surrounding staff also began to throw her dirty looks.

"She's pulling out all the stops to get Mr. Sinclair's attention, that’s shameless."

"She looks so innocent and sweet. Who would've thought she'd be like that? Poor Faye, being used as a stepping stone in the rumors."

"It's weird. Mr. Sinclair should've heard she's spreading rumors, but why hasn't he fired her yet?"

"She used someone else's ID card to get hired at the Sinclair group, and Mr. Sinclair didn't fire her. It means the rumors are half-true. She must have some tricks up her sleeve to bewitch our Mr. Sinclair." Joie's eyes were full of hostility, trying to sway public opinion.

Trapped in the small elevator, Thalassa was the target of everyone's verbal attacks, on the verge of drowning in a sea of spit.

She was at her wit's end, and gave a cold laugh, saying, "Only a fool would be led astray by seductive words. Everyone here should be able to tell truth themselves instead of listening to other’s."
