Ethan flashed a knowing smile and looked towards Thalassa.

Thalassa got the message loud and clear. Lysander was here to survey the scene to ascertain the events of that day, to determine whether Thalassa's actions had been deliberate or not.

It meant that Lysander was here to clear her name.

In the past, Thalassa might have been grateful for Lysander's gesture, but now her heart had turned cold. No matter what Lysander did, it no longer stirred anything inside her.

"Mr. Ethan, if there's nothing more I can help today, I think I'll head out now," Thalassa said, turning to leave.

She had barely taken a step when her wrist was caught. Thalassa turned around to meet Lysander's deep eyes, and her heart skipped a beat.

His hand, still calloused and rough from years of hard work, gripped her delicate skin like an electric current threatening to play a tune on her heartstrings.

Thalassa instinctively jerked her hand away, "Mr. Sinclair, please mind your behavior."

She stared at him and spoke in an icy tone.

But Lysander didn't let go. Instead, he held on tighter, his deep-set eyes locked onto hers. "Where are you off to? I'll give you a lift."

He had been brooding over the idea that Thalassa was out to get him, not once considering investigating the matter further.

After some time to cool off, even with his grandfather's biased views against Thalassa, he couldn't believe she would actually do something so drastic.

So, he had called David to reenact the scene of that day to test the feasibility.

It was truly an accident.

Lysander wasn't one to believe in accidents. He always suspected ulterior motives.

The chances of a real accident were too slim. If it had been anybody else, he wouldn't have bothered to prove their innocence. Anyone who threatened his life would face his wrath without mercy.
