The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1602

In a daze, David snapped to attention at once, replying with a firm, "Yes, sir!"

He immediately began to push Lysander's wheelchair towards the exit.

"Stop right there!" The deep, decisive voice of Zephyr rang out.

Instinctively, David couldn't bring himself to defy Zephyr's command and halted in his tracks.

Zephyr rose from his seat, striding swiftly to Lysander, blocking his path, his voice filled with frustration, "Where do you think you're going? To see Thalassa?"

Lysander was noncommittal, "And if I am?"

Zephyr, holding back his anger, retorted, "I've told you before, stop entangling yourself with Thalassa. Hasn't she caused enough trouble for the Sinclair family?"

"She hasn't done anything. How has she stirred trouble for the Sinclair family?" Lysander reasoned. "It was me who insisted on keeping her by my side, and me who chose to save her. She never asked for anything in return."

During his days of leisure at home, Lysander had revisited the entire sequence of events since meeting Thalassa. Thalassa had always been there passively, and even though she had borne him four children, she had never asked him for anything, not even a penny.

"That's precisely her cunning, manipulating people's hearts, and that's what's truly terrifying," Zephyr said, his voice heavy with worry for Lysander, "Think of your father. Didn't his obsession with a woman lead to his downfall?"
