The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1667

Kimberly decided it was time to have a heart-to-heart with that man. After all, it's not every day that Hertha finds someone she clicks with so well. Why wait for some distant stroke of fate when the right person could be right in front of you?

Determined, Kimberly set aside her shopping bag, untied her apron, and got ready to head out.

Hertha noticed her mother's hurried demeanor and asked curiously, "Mom, where are you off to?"

Kimberly paused mid-step, looking at Hertha with a guilty flutter in her eyes, and said, "We're out of soy sauce. I'm just going to run to the store and grab some."

"Why don't I go? You keep cooking," Ashton offered, standing up to leave.

Kimberly quickly shut him down, "No need, I'll go. Just sit down, will you!"

With that, she hurried out, carefully closing the door behind her to keep Hertha from seeing her once she was outside.

Once the door was securely closed, Kimberly took a moment to make sure it was properly shut, ensuring no one inside could see her. Then, she quickly made her way to Alaric's doorstep and rang the doorbell.

After a minute, the door opened.

Alaric stood there, tall and well-built, wearing a cream-colored shirt, black trousers, and black leather shoes. The top two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a hint of his appealing physique and his captivating, lazy yet alluring eyes.

Kimberly was taken aback by his appearance, understanding now why her daughter was so smitten.

Alaric, seeing a woman he didn't recognize at first, was instinctively on guard. But recognition dawned on him the next second.

She was Hertha's mother; he had seen her at Hertha's house before.

As Kimberly stared, obviously flustered, Alaric broke the silence, "Can I help you?"
