The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1882

Ethan was at a loss for words. He had intended for Thalassa to have a word with Hertha about Alaric's condition, given that it was Hertha's rejection that had left Alaric heartbroken and seriously ill. After all, they say a broken heart needs a touch of love to heal. But Thalassa seemed to miss the hint entirely and went on to recommend a doctor instead. Ethan didn't quite know how to respond.

After hanging up, Ethan received a text from Thalassa with the name and contact of the doctor—Lydia. Ethan had heard of her before; rumor had it that Lydia had single-handedly held off four bouncers to help Thalassa crash Lysander's wedding at a hotel. Ethan was intrigued and wondered if Lydia was as formidable as the stories suggested. Since he was looking for a doctor to treat Alaric at home, it seemed like a good idea to give her a try.

Driving to the address Thalassa had provided, Ethan navigated through several rooms filled with medical supplies but found no one. He continued until he heard noises from an open door. Peeking inside, he saw a tall, slim woman with short hair, wearing a lab coat, mixing two test tubes containing blue and white liquids. As she combined them, they reacted with a gurgle, and the next moment, exploded with a bang.

The woman, startled, jumped back right into Ethan's line of sight. “Hey, hey, hey...” Ethan instinctively put his hands out to catch the flying hazard, but it was too late. The woman crashed into him, and Ethan, shocked, noted how soft she felt. Before he could react, he heard her gasp.

Looking down, Lydia saw two hands around her in a very awkward position—a region no one had dared touch before. Furious, she turned and punched Ethan in the eye.

“Ouch!” Ethan saw stars before another punch landed on his stomach. “Ugh!” Clutching his belly, he looked up just in time to see her fist coming again. He stumbled back as she advanced, her expression fierce.

Ethan, with a throbbing eye and aching stomach, raised his hands in surrender. “Mercy, please, don't hit me.”

“You pervert, taking advantage of a lady, I'll teach you a lesson!” Lydia's fist aimed for Ethan's groin.

Ethan's eyes widened in fear, and he quickly knelt before her. “Please, stop! It wasn't intentional. I was just trying to catch you!”

Lydia paused her fist at the last second, panting and glaring at the man before her. “Not intentional? You think you can just show up and get fresh with me?”

Ethan felt wronged. “I was here to see you about something important. How was I supposed to know you were going to fly out at me? I was just trying to catch you.”
