The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1902

Lysander's words left Thalassa's ears burning a bright shade of red. What on earth had Lysander eaten today to be in such a flirtatious mood right in the middle of the hall? It was just a cup of tea, yet he managed to make even that seem suggestive. Thalassa deliberately ignored Lysander's last remark, pushing his wheelchair as she suggested, "Let's head out."

Once in the car, Thalassa remembered to ask, "Where are we heading?"

"To the orphanage," Lysander replied.

It took a moment for Thalassa to process this. "To see Susan's child?"

"To watch a spectacle," said Lysander.

Thalassa was puzzled. What kind of spectacle?

Seeing the mysterious smile on Lysander's lips, she didn't inquire further. Whatever the spectacle, she would find out soon enough.

Upon arriving at the orphanage, Thalassa wheeled Lysander inside, knowing exactly where to go. She headed straight for the room where Susan's child lived.

Before they reached the room, they spotted two men standing in the hallway, facing the door. One was young and robust, his physique revealing his youth despite the beard. The other man had a slight stoop, either from age or injury, clearly not as vibrant as the younger man.

Approaching, Thalassa realized it was Reginald and Joshua! They were members of the Whitman family; Thalassa's interest was instantly piqued. Had Joshua finally found his son?

"Susan, calm down. Put the child down, and let's talk," Joshua said to the room, his tone tinged with tension. Reginald stood by, observing silently, not uttering a word.

"Susan, you want two million from me, then you'll hand over the child. Otherwise, we're jumping out of this window together!" Susan's voice came from inside, fraught with emotion.

Even without seeing her, Thalassa could imagine Susan's menacing demeanor as she used the child as leverage against Joshua. Last time, Susan had threatened Thalassa, a bystander. Now, she was threatening the child's own father, presumably to greater effect.

Susan was heartless, willing to use her own son as a bargaining chip. The mention of two million made Joshua pause, but Reginald, far more composed, scoffed at Susan's demand: "Two million? Susan, don't you think you're being a bit greedy? Look in the mirror. Are you really worth that much?"

Susan's response was even more frantic: "You won't give it to me? Fine, I'm taking him and jumping right now! Joshua, this is your own son. Think carefully!"

Susan, holding the child and perched on the window ledge, glared menacingly, her body tense with threat. The child, only two but aware of the danger, clung to Susan's clothes, his tiny body rigid with fear, crying helplessly.

His cries tugged at Joshua's heart. Seeing Susan's threatening move, he stepped forward anxiously: "Susan, let's talk this out. You need to come down first. We can only talk if you come down."
