The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1944

Lysander's gaze remained fixed on David, silently urging him to continue his tale. The mention of Callum didn't seem to stir much surprise in Lysander; his expression barely changed.

Clearing his throat, David resumed, "Susan went off the rails three years ago. She found Callum and convinced him to lend her a plane and some explosives. Callum even hooked her up with a flight instructor, who crash-coursed her into piloting. Susan flew straight to Hollowbrook. Thalassa's place towers over Hollowbrook, making it quite the conspicuous target for Susan's planned strike."

"She bombed Thalassa's home and then fled in the plane, only to crash land it using the emergency eject. Following the incident, Zephyr got the cops to investigate, but Callum had interfered, leading them to conclude it was an accidental crash that destroyed Thalassa's home—a tragic misdirection."

David laid out the entire investigation's findings to Lysander. The revelation shocked David. He hadn't expected that Callum, the cause behind Lysander's three-year coma and his current inability to stand, would be capable of such treachery.

David had always seen Callum as a gentle, jovial gentleman who, despite his affections for Thalassa, seemed above resorting to such lowly tactics. He believed Callum would assist Thalassa in fleeing from Lysander, taking her and her child along with her mother abroad, all to free Thalassa from Lysander's clutches.

Yet, it turned out Callum was far from the benign figure he appeared to be, harboring a darkness that rivaled Susan's.

Lysander closed the file, his aura as chilling as winter frost. "Notify Captain Payne. It's time for an arrest," Lysander spoke with concise, authoritative force.

"Right away, I'll call Captain Payne now," David nodded, exiting the office.

Meanwhile, at the mall, Thalassa and Hertha were finishing up their meal before heading out to browse some jewelry counters. Hertha, arm in arm with Thalassa, meticulously examined each counter.

"Strange, Thalassa, why aren't they showcasing your designs anymore?" Hertha mused, having not spotted any of Thalassa's creations, which had been highly sought after in the market until recently.

"I'm not sure," Thalassa replied.

"Hey, look over there! That's one of my designs on sale, let's check it out." Hertha, spotting her own work, led Thalassa over.

After a while, Thalassa needed the restroom and excused herself, initially suggesting Hertha come along. However, Hertha, captivated by the display, barely glanced back as she waved Thalassa off, "Go ahead, I'll wait here."

Thalassa left for the restroom, unaware that a man in casual black attire and a baseball cap was trailing her, deliberately pulling his cap down as he followed.

Entering the restroom, Thalassa's moment of vulnerability was seized as someone suddenly covered her mouth from behind, the stranger's arm locking around her neck, leaving her no chance to scream or resist.

Despite her desperate struggles, Thalassa couldn't reach her assailant or find leverage, her breath running short as both her mouth and nose were smothered. Still, she fought back with all her might, but the man's strength was overwhelming, quickly dragging her into an elevator.

The mall's elevator led directly to a hotel, where the man forcefully pulled Thalassa into a room and threw her onto the bed, slamming the door shut behind them.
