The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1984

Thank goodness for digital registrations these days; everything's recorded.

Alaric quickly found the date of the paternity test appointment. He shared the date with Ethan, adding, "Can you ask the deputy director to check if there was an issue with the paternity test results that day?"

"What's up, you suspect something?" Ethan, sensing some juicy gossip, asked with a smirk. Ethan loved digging into the personal dramas of his friends. He wasn't much for gossip about strangers, but when it came to his friends, he couldn't resist.

"I suspect Georgia's child isn't mine!" Alaric didn't hold back, sharing his suspicion with Ethan directly. He still firmly believed that the child was Georgia's.

Ethan understood immediately and promised, "Alright, I'll get on it right away."

Alaric worked at the Crawley Group, and Ethan was well-versed in Alaric's affairs. Georgia was Alaric's ex-fiancée, who had become too arrogant and disrespectful toward him, leading Alaric to break off their engagement decisively. This decision also made him leave the Falconer family behind and start anew at the Crawley Group.

He had plans to marry Hertha, but then Georgia showed up with a child, claiming it was Alaric's, which prevented Alaric and Hertha from tying the knot. Alaric had doubts about the child's paternity from the start, so he went ahead with a DNA test. The results confirmed the child was his! This revelation only strained his relationship with Hertha further. Everything was complicated because of that child.

Now that Alaric doubted the child's paternity, Ethan naturally wanted to help clarify things.

After hanging up with Ethan, Alaric couldn't calm his thoughts. He was investigating blindly; what if Hertha meant something else, and all his efforts were in vain? The simplest and most effective way was to ask Hertha directly about the situation. But he had already asked, and Hertha wouldn't tell him anything. Asking again would only annoy her. Better to just wait for the results.

Alaric turned off the TV and went to take a shower, hoping to uncover the truth tomorrow.

Hertha was sleeping soundly when her phone's ringtone disrupted her slumber. She reached out from under the covers, fumbling on the nightstand for her phone. Finding it, she pressed the answer button by feel, her voice groggy and annoyed, "What's up?"

"Wow, still in bed? The sun's about to tan your behind," came a refined male voice on the other end, cultured and gentle, with a hint of scholarly charm.

Hertha, known for her short temper, was about to lash out for disturbing her sleep and mocking her for sleeping in. But as the words reached her lips, she recognized the voice.

Pulling the phone away, she checked the screen, and sure enough, it was Spencer. It was him. Luckily, she hadn't snapped at him; that would have been awkward.

"Morning, Spencer. It's been a while since you called. What's got you reaching out today?" Hertha's mood lightened, her voice becoming friendly.
