The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 213

She was in a total flap, and she just wanted to verify if the tire only needed patching up instead of a full-blown replacement. That way, she could save some dough. But lo and behold, Lysander showed up at that moment. He caught her in the act and even mentioned her interest in his car. Now, she was really up a creek without a paddle.

Why on earth would Lysander invite her to his office? Thalassa was on pins and needles, but she couldn't say no. The guy was too intimidating. After pulling herself together, she stepped into the elevator. Instead of heading straight to the top floor, she first went to report to the cleaning department.

Upon her arrival, Daryl greeted her, dragged her into the restroom, and asked curiously, "Thalassa, do you and Lysander have something going on?"

Thalassa was taken aback. "What do you mean?"

"I saw you getting into Lysander's car yesterday, he took you with him. Why would he pick you over me if there's nothing fishy going on?" Daryl asked with a puzzled look.

Daryl's barrage of questions left her at sixes and sevens. She was already worried about why Lysander wanted to see her in his office. And now this!

What if word got around that she slept with Lysander? What would the office gossip be like? There'll be folks saying she's sleeping her way to the top and that she's shameless. She just wanted to work quietly and earn her keep.

"Lysander asked me to work overtime yesterday," Thalassa finally came up with an excuse.

"Overtime?" Daryl was puzzled.

Thalassa gave an awkward smile and said, "Yes, Sinclair Corp. has many branches, and they couldn't find a cleaner at one of the branches. So, Lysander asked me to clean there temporarily."

"Oh, I see. Next time you have to work overtime, make sure to rope me in. I can't let you do all the heavy lifting, I should share some of the load, right?" Daryl said.

Thalassa nodded with a smile and said, "Sure, I'll definitely loop you in next time. We should get going it's time to work."

After exiting the restroom, Thalassa heaved a sigh of relief, hopped on the elevator, and headed to the top floor. Luckily, her job was to clean that very floor. Nobody would suspect a thing.

Standing at the door of the CEO's office, Thalassa steeled herself, mustered up her courage, and knocked lightly.

"Come in." That deep, authoritative voice echoed.

Thalassa walked in. Lysander's towering figure sat on the black CEO chair, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the desk. His demeanor was regal yet languid, yet it was full of gravity.

Thalassa approached cautiously and said, "Lysander, I just saw a needle in your tire. I thought a kid was pranking you, so I pulled it out."

Upon hearing this, Lysander stood up and moved towards her. His towering figure loomed over Thalassa, and the atmosphere in the office became increasingly tense. The overwhelming pressure made Thalassa's breathing halt, and she instinctively took a step back.

Lysander strode over, closing the gap in a single step. Thalassa's waist bent backward, she was about to fall. Lysander quickly extended his arm to catch her slender waist, pulling her into his embrace. He lowered his head, his handsome face turned towards her, his domineering aura enveloping her. He asked, "How do you know it was a kid?"
