The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 216

To play it safe, Thalassa read the contract thoroughly this time.

The meat of the contract was this: if she quits on her own without approval, she’d owe the company 50k. On the flip side, if she gets sacked, the company would cough up two months of her salary. The trial period was one month, and if she screws up during that time, the company has the right to fire her.

So getting sacked was actually a better deal.

Now, she couldn’t quit. Lysander had just made it clear he wouldn’t approve her resignation.

If she insisted on leaving, she’d owe the company 20k.

She couldn’t even scrounge up 5k right now, where was she supposed to get 20k?

So, signing the contract was the best game plan.

After reading the contract, Thalassa signed on the dotted line.

Then she put down the paperwork and said to Lysander, “Mr. Sinclair, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.”

Lysander didn’t try to keep her around.

Thalassa walked out of the office, let out a sigh of relief, and finally loosened up after she left.

If she hadn’t pushed Lysander away just now, she might have been forced into some kind of hanky-panky with him.

He said he’d take responsibility for her but made her his personal secretary.

Her pay got bumped up, but she was closer to him than ever.

The more Thalassa thought about it, the more it seemed like he was trying to start an office romance or even make her his mistress.

If she can’t quit, then she’d just have to mess up on purpose. If she got sacked, she could live with that.
