David cut off Evelyn mid-sentence.
He waved his hand to the security guard, signaling him to escort a woman out.
"Please show this lady the door," he said, before quickly following Lysander's strides.
The guards approached Evelyn and grabbed her by the arms.
"Get off me!" Evelyn protested, furious. "This isn't fair!"
"Hold up!" Thalassa rushed over, maintaining a polite smile. "Let me handle this; you guys have done enough."
"Thalassa, they've really crossed the line," Evelyn vented as soon as she saw Thalassa.
Thalassa kept her smile, comforting her. "I know, I know. Just take a breather."
Seeing that the two women knew each other, the guards released Evelyn. "As employees of the Sinclair Group, we can't let personal grudges get in the way of business, especially not with Mr. Sinclair," one of them said to Thalassa.
"I get it; it won't happen again. Thanks." Thalassa nodded in gratitude.
The guards left, and Evelyn was still fuming.
Thalassa comforted her and took her to the break room.
In the break room, it was just the two of them.
Thalassa let out a sigh of frustration: "Mom, didn't I tell you not to come to the company looking for our boss?"
"If I hadn't come, who knows what kind of attitude our boss might have? What's this about a line of women wanting to marry him long enough to fill a train? He should take a good look at who my daughter is first. He's clearly looking down on me. Plus, with so many women around Lysander, how can he handle them all? Thalassa, you can't throw yourself into this," Evelyn raged. Thalassa nodded.
She'd heard what David said earlier.
Apparently, everyone was aware that only a rich princess was worthy of Lysander.
