Thalassa was sitting on the couch, when Hertha praised her, "Raising four kids ain't a piece of cake, but your kids are smart and cute. Many people are green with envy, like me."
Thalassa responded with pride, "My kids take after me, that's why they're so bright."
Hertha queried with a puzzled look, "Isn't your IQ only 100?"
That was just average though.
Thalassa was speechless.
Such blunt words were laughably heartbreaking.
Then, Hertha added, "As far as I know, kids usually inherit their father's IQ."
So, their wit and intelligence might come from their father.
Before she could speak, Thalassa swiftly covered her mouth.
Evelyn walked out of the room and saw Thalassa covering Hertha's mouth. They were horsing around like kids. She asked, "What on earth are you guys doing?"
Thalassa giggled awkwardly, "We're just playing a game, nothing serious."
Then she let go of her hand.
Evelyn laughed and said, "Hertha, stay for dinner. I'll go buy some groceries."
Hertha responded with a sweet smile, "Absolutely, Evelyn. I adore your cooking."
Hertha's words delighted Evelyn.
Evelyn left to buy groceries.
