The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires novel Chapter 1579

After spending a day at home, Felicity decided it was time to get back to work. She had been away far too long, and deep down, she yearned to return to her old life, especially after reaffirming her breakup with Miles over dinner.

Since then, he had seemingly vanished, no calls, no unexpected visits, presumably back to Eldorria City.

It was for the best, Felicity thought, they'd each go their own way, treating whatever happened between them as nothing more than a fleeting dream.

On her first day back, Felicity chose a light-colored sundress, waking up early to put extra effort into her appearance, hoping to lift her spirits.

Arriving at the office, her colleague Oliver greeted her with a wave, "Hey, long time no see!"

"Yeah, I've missed you guys!"

Oliver chuckled, then leaned in with a conspiratorial whisper, "Did you know? While you were gone, there were some big changes here. The old CEO got transferred, and we've got a new one who just started two days ago!"

A new CEO, only two days in. Instantly, Felicity understood why Miles hadn't reached out since their last dinner – he was here, waiting for her.

"New CEO's quite a looker, totally my type!" Oliver winked before sauntering off with his documents, leaving Felicity in a mix of amusement and exasperation. She could only imagine Miles' reaction if he knew he was being called someone's type, especially given his old-fashioned demeanor.

Settling back into her seat, Felicity rubbed her temples, deciding to focus on the day's data analysis before drafting her resignation letter during lunch. This breakup wasn't a joke to her; despite Miles' attempts to change, she had lost all faith in their relationship. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, some pieces just don't fit together.
