When Skyler stormed back into the Stirling Mansion, he was fuming.
"Skyler, did the plan tank? That wasn't Geoffrey who showed up, was it?"
Skyler just nodded, "That faker tried to slip me some Truth Serum to make me spill the beans. As if I'd fall for that. Me, the King of Toxins, poisoned? Not a chance."
He stood with his hands on his hips, pacing back and forth in frustration.
William clapped him on the shoulder. "I figured Geoffrey wouldn't show his face. He's just a sewer rat, stirring up trouble from the shadows. He doesn't have the guts to come out in the open."
Kane stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Of course, he can't afford to. Once his cover's blown, he can't hide anymore."
"We need to cook up a new plan," said William.
Skyler's eyes, round and bright, flickered with a new idea. "I'll pay a visit to Raines tomorrow."
At the sanatorium. The servant had just finished changing Agent A's diaper, and he pursed his lips in disgust.
Agent A was livid. "You looking to dig your grave?"
The servant shrank back and scurried out the door. Even a paralyzed lord still hold some power. The servant didn't dare cross him.
Agent A was on the brink of madness, each day dragging on like an eternity. And the worst part? It had been weeks with no word on his antidote.
Then Skyler walked in.
"Raines, I came to see you and brought your favorite apple pie."
