He gripped her chin, forcing her to look him in the eye. "Who are you keeping your virginity for?"
His gaze hardened, cold as ice, as if she'd shatter into a million pieces if she said the wrong thing.
She shivered, "I just believe that I should only be with someone I truly love. I can't separate my physical needs from my emotions."
Leopold's heart clenched as if he'd been struck, "Is it so hard to love me?"
She looked up at him, her eyes locked onto his. His face was so handsome it could make anyone swoon - it was hard not to feel attracted. But falling in love with him would only lead to destruction.
"I can't afford to fall in love with you. The world is full of women who love you, who are obsessed with you. I don't need to join that circus, it's just asking for disappointment."
Being rejected by him was already painful enough, why give him another chance to laugh at her?
His long fingers caressed her cheek, gently stroking her face, "But you're the only one who's my wife."
Not for long, she thought bitterly to herself. She was not his chosen one. She was just the unfortunate soul who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"Mr. Leopold, once the babies are born, our karma will be fulfilled. On the christening day, you can hold a family meeting, and we can part ways amicably. How about that?" She forced a smile onto her face.
Seeing her smile, Leopold felt a surge of anger. He leaned in, silencing her with a fierce kiss, pushing her down onto the couch.
She weakly pounded her fists against his shoulders before letting them fall limply to her sides.
His kiss was too passionate, too dominating, she couldn't resist.
Soon her mind went blank, her body soft as cotton, surrendering to him completely.
After what felt like an eternity, a voice echoed from below the stairs, "Aurelia, I've made you some soup, come down and get it."
